    Super tough, ultra compact, and SSD fast. IP56 certified against water and dust / grit, with a crush-resistant aluminum enclosure and built-in USB 3.0 cable: the Aegis Padlock SSD

    Software-Free, 100% hardware-based 256-bit AES XTS encrypted, onboard keypad PIN authenticated, and ultra-fast USB 3.1 (3.0) data transfer speeds. All Data is encrypted on the fly and the PINs and Data remain encrypted while the drive is at rest. Completely cross-platform compatible and OS agnostic; the Padlock SSD thrives with Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, and Chrome. It also thrives where software-authenticated encrypted devices can't even function, such as embedded systems, machines without a keyboard, and equipment in possession of a powered USB port and storage file system. All internal componentry is protected from physical tampering with a layer of hardened epoxy, and its firmware is locked down to prevent any modifications making it impervious to malware attacks such as BadUSB.

    FIPS 140-2 Level 2 Inside

    Meets the U.S. government standards for information technology and computer security. NIST FIPS 140 is the cryptography standard program required by the US federal government for protection of sensitive data.

    The Aegis Padlock SSD's FIPS 140-2 validation covers 11 areas of its cryptographic security system, including physical security, cryptographic key management and design integrity. The Aegis Padlock SSD's FIPS 140-2 Level 2 encryption validation encompasses both the Padlock SSD's physical tamper-resistant features as well as its identity-based authentication. Tested and validated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for use by the Federal governments of the USA, Canada and others, the Aegis Padlock SSD Drive is based on Apricorn's FIPS 140-2 Level 2 validated encryption module as indicated by certificate #2835. The Padlock SSD's security policy is located on the NIST site at the following link. The epoxy coated boundary includes all encryption functions and all Critical Security Parameters (CSPs) such as PIN storage, encryption key generation and storage, random number and seed generators, and all firmware storage. The FIPS module is a complete encryption system, and all CSPs never leave the boundary and are never shared with a host system. By design, the HDD/SSD that stores the encrypted data is excluded from this boundary to both maximize affordability and product line flexibility in capacity and form factor offerings.

    Separate Admin and User Mode:

    Admin (Device Configuration) Mode and User Access Mode. The Aegis Secure Key supports one independent Admin and up to four User PINs. The Admin mode controls the universal programmable settings of the device and can only be accessed with the Admin PIN. The User mode is limited to basic external drive functions like read /write, unlock / lock, etc. The data on the drive can also be accessed with the admin PIN in the User mode.

    Shipping & Return

    Return Policy

    You need to have a Return Authorization (RA) number before returning any products to HSSL Technologies.

    For a hard copy of this form and a shipping label, please include your request in the form below.

    You can also request an RA online by submitting an RA Request via email. Once you have provided HSSL Technologies with the appropriate information, we will contact you with an assigned RA number.

    Defective or DOA Products

    DOA or defective products are returned for REPLACEMENT ONLY with the same product/model. Deviations from this policy may result in a 20% Returns Processing Service Charge.

    • Defective products must be in the original factory carton with all original packing materials.
    • The Return Authorization number must be on the shipping label, not the carton. Please do not write on the carton.
    • Returns must be shipped freight prepaid. Products received freight collect, without an RA number, or not approved for return will be refused.
    • Return Authorization numbers are valid for fourteen (14) days only. Products returned after expiration will be refused.
    • HSSL credits are based on the purchase price or current price, whichever is lower.

    General Return Terms

    You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We will also pay return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (e.g., you received an incorrect or defective item).

    You should expect to receive your refund within approximately six weeks of giving your package to the return shipper. This period includes:

    • 5–10 business days for us to receive your return from the shipper
    • 3–5 business days for us to process your return
    • 5–10 business days for your bank to process the refund

    Shipping Policy

    We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and certain products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
