Product Description
Broadcom 102.4 Tb/s StrataXGS Tomahawk 6 Ethernet Switch - BCM78914
The Broadcom BCM78910 family is a class of high-radix, high-bandwidth network switching devices supporting up to 1.6TbE, 128 × 800GbE, 256 × 400GbE, and 512 × 200GbE ports. The device family features 128 integrated Peregrine 106.25G PAM4 SerDes cores (BCM78910) or 64 Condor 212.5G PAM4 SerDes cores (BCM78914). The BCM78910 delivers high-bandwidth, glueless network connectivity of up to 102.4 Tb/s on a single chip.
Highly optimized for scale-up and scale-out AI networks used for training and inference, Tomahawk 6 provides advanced load balancing and congestion management for the highest network utilization and lowest job completion time (JCT).
The BCM7891x is a high-performance and high-capacity device designed to meet the requirements for next-generation data center, AI, machine learning (ML), and cloud computing environments. The BCM78910 architecture delivers complete L2 and L3 switching, routing, and tunneling capabilities at line rate and maximum port density, with low power and latency. Software compatibility is maintained across the StrataXGS product portfolio to simplify customer designs and reduce time-to-deployment.
- World’s highest radix of 200GbE ports: 512 ports supported on a single chip, enabling flat, low-latency AI/ML clusters
- The industry’s most advanced 102.4Tbps packet buffer architecture, providing the highest performance and lowest tail latency for RoCEv2 and other new RDMA protocols
- Advanced adaptive routing, dynamic load balancing, and support for end-to-end congestion control capabilities specifically designed to handle the large, low-entropy flows typical of AI/ML workloads
- Support for arbitrary topologies, including scale-up, Clos, rail-optimized, rail-only, and torus
- Hardware-based link failover for improved network resiliency and reduced JCT
- Ultra Ethernet compliant
