Product Description
Broadcom 7-nm 400GbE PAM-4 PHY (8:8) Transceiver - BCM87580A0KFEBG
The Broadcom BCM87580 is the industry’s lowest-power single-chip 400GbE PAM-4 PHY transceiver capable of driving eight lanes of 53-Gb/s PAM-4 at 26 Gbaud, while supporting AOC, SR8, FR8 and LR8 optical links inside the next generation pluggable modules. Broadcom’s advanced DSP technology and equalization techniques compensate for optical impairments while maintaining the world’s lowest power to enable the deployment of 12.8 Tb/s and 25.6 Tb/s switch ASICs.
Features
- Industry-leading DSP performance and power efficiency enabling AOC/SR8/FR8/LR8 optical modules to meet IEEE standards and MSA specifications
- Proven PAM-4 architecture supporting multiple optics front-ends including VCSEL, EML, DML, and silicon photonics
- Optimized design and proven interoperability with Broadcom switch ASICs and ASSPs using 50G PAM-4 SerDes architecture
- Ultra-low power consumption using 7-nm process technology and small footprint packages
Applications
- Hyperscale data center deployments inside 400G QSFPDD/OSFP optical modules
- High Performance Computing deployments inside 400G AOC
- 400G AOC, 400G SR8, 400G FR8, 400G LR8
