The Broadcom BCM84886 is a dual-port 10GBASE-T/5GBASE-T/2.5GBASE-T/1000BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet CMOS transceiver.
BCM848886 is a highly integrated solution that supports USXGMII, XFI, 5000BASE-X, 2500BASE-X, and 1000BASE-X (SGMII) MAC interface
The BCM848886 features the Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) protocol. EEE enables the BCM84886 to auto-negotiate and operate with EEE-compliant link partners to reduce overall system power during low utilization of the link. Broadcom’s AutogrEEEn mode permits legacy systems to enjoy the power saving benefits of EEE.
The BCM84886 features Enhanced Cable Diagnostics, which detects common cable problems such as shorts, opens, and cable length.
