Broadcom Trident 4 / BCM56690 Series, High-Capacity StrataXGS Trident 4 Ethernet Switch Series
The StrataXGS Trident 4 BCM56690 series is a family of Ethernet switches designed to address performance, capacity, and service requirements for next-generation data center and cloud computing environments as well as high-bandwidth enterprise and mobile network applications. The Trident 4 architecture delivers compiler-driven, user-programmable forwarding and instrumentation capabilities at a very high port density, while maintaining minimum power, latency and board footprint.
Trident 4 has extensive features to address the rapidly increasing scale of data center network deployments and distributed computing applications. These features include flexible in-band and streaming telemetry, large scale forwarding databases with flexible allocations to allow tailoring to the required application, and support for the latest in datacenter protocols.
To enable high network utilization, Trident 4 features a wide variety of load balancing and congestion management technologies including Dynamic Load Balancing, Dynamic Group Multipathing, Resilient Hashing, Latency-Based ECN marking, and Elephant Flow detection/re-prioritization.

- Extensive, programmable in-band telemetry including support for IFA 2.0 (In-band Flow Analyzer version 2)
- A wide variety of load-balancing and congestion management features including Dynamic Load Balancing, Dynamic Group Multipathing, Resilient Hashing, Latency-Based ECN marking, and Elephant Flow detection and re-prioritization
- Broadview™ Gen 4 integrated network instrumentation feature set and software suite, providing full visibility to network operators into packet flow behavior, traffic management state, and switch internal performance
- Four GHz-class processors on-chip enabling powerful out-of-band (streaming) telemetry and a variety of Broadcom-provided embedded applications
- Robust connectivity using up to 80 instances of the industry’s best performing, longest-reach 50G PAM-4 integrated SerDes core, enabling a wide variety of optical and direct attached copper (DAC) links

Return Policy
You need to have a Return Authorization (RA) number before returning any products to HSSL Technologies.
For a hard copy of this form and a shipping label, please include your request in the form below.
You can also request an RA online by submitting an RA Request via email. Once you have provided HSSL Technologies with the appropriate information, we will contact you with an assigned RA number.
Defective or DOA Products
DOA or defective products are returned for REPLACEMENT ONLY with the same product/model. Deviations from this policy may result in a 20% Returns Processing Service Charge.
- Defective products must be in the original factory carton with all original packing materials.
- The Return Authorization number must be on the shipping label, not the carton. Please do not write on the carton.
- Returns must be shipped freight prepaid. Products received freight collect, without an RA number, or not approved for return will be refused.
- Return Authorization numbers are valid for fourteen (14) days only. Products returned after expiration will be refused.
- HSSL credits are based on the purchase price or current price, whichever is lower.
General Return Terms
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We will also pay return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (e.g., you received an incorrect or defective item).
You should expect to receive your refund within approximately six weeks of giving your package to the return shipper. This period includes:
- 5–10 business days for us to receive your return from the shipper
- 3–5 business days for us to process your return
- 5–10 business days for your bank to process the refund

Shipping Policy
