    The C8500‑FAN‑3R‑RF (remanufactured) is a field-replaceable fan tray designed specifically for Cisco Catalyst 8500 Series Edge Platforms, including 3‑RU models like the C8500‑20X6C, C8500‑12X4QC, and C8500‑12X 

    Technical Specifications & Form Factor

    • Form Factor: 3 RU (supports full chassis height)

    • Supported Platforms: Catalyst 8500 3‑RU routers (e.g., 20X6C)

    • Heat Dissipation Role: Integral to chassis cooling; works with PSUs and chassis airflow to manage heat (~3,753 BTU/hr typical, up to 5,118 BTU/hr max for full systems) 

    • Fan Count / Layout: Matches original factory-specified fan tray; removable and modular per Cisco’s hardware guidelines

    • Installation: Engineered for tool-less removal and insertion; part of Cisco’s FRU design
