DDR5 is the latest iteration of DRAM technology. It offers significant performance improvements over its predecessor, DDR4, with increased data transfer rates, higher memory densities, and lower power consumption. DDR5 DIMMs are the physical modules that contain DDR5 memory chips and are used to expand the memory capacity of a computer system. DDR5 DIMMs have larger burst lengths than DDR4, with a burst length of 16 vs. 8, which allows for a greater amount of data to be transferred between the memory and the CPU.

DDR5 DIMMs also feature improved error correction capabilities, x80 vs. x72 with DDR4, making them more reliable and less prone to data corruption. DDR5 DIMMs operate at a voltage of 1.1 volts, which is lower than the 1.2 volts required by DDR4 DIMMs. This, combined with other power-saving features, makes DDR5 DIMMs more energy-efficient than their predecessors. DDR5 RDIMM includes a Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) to manage power consumption, voltage regulation, and other aspects of power delivery. This is not present in DDR4 because it is a newer technology, designed with more advanced power management features to support higher memory speeds and lower power consumption. Overall, DDR5 DRAM DIMMs represent a significant upgrade in memory technology and are expected to become the standard for high-performance computing in the years to come.

DDR5 MRDIMM (Multiplexed Rank DIMM) is specifically designed to meet the demanding needs of AI and HPC servers. By leveraging existing DDR5 DRAM memory devices, MRDIMM modules double the DRAM data rate, providing up to 2.3X better performance for HPC workloads and up to 2X better performance for AI inference workloads. Additionally, MRDIMM modules maintain the reliability and error correction capabilities of RDIMM modules, ensuring robust performance in critical computing tasks. With these advancements, DDR5 MRDIMM offers a compelling value proposition for enhancing the efficiency and speed of AI and HPC servers.

Return Policy

You need to have a Return Authorization (RA) number before returning any products to HSSL Technologies.

For a hard copy of this form and a shipping label, please include your request in the form below.

You can also request an RA online by submitting an RA Request via email. Once you have provided HSSL Technologies with the appropriate information, we will contact you with an assigned RA number.

Defective or DOA Products

DOA or defective products are returned for REPLACEMENT ONLY with the same product/model. Deviations from this policy may result in a 20% Returns Processing Service Charge.

Defective products must be in the original factory carton with all original packing materials.
The Return Authorization number must be on the shipping label, not the carton. Please do not write on the carton.
Returns must be shipped freight prepaid. Products received freight collect, without an RA number, or not approved for return will be refused.
Return Authorization numbers are valid for fourteen (14) days only. Products returned after expiration will be refused.
HSSL credits are based on the purchase price or current price, whichever is lower.

General Return Terms

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We will also pay return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (e.g., you received an incorrect or defective item).

You should expect to receive your refund within approximately six weeks of giving your package to the return shipper. This period includes:

5–10 business days for us to receive your return from the shipper
3–5 business days for us to process your return
5–10 business days for your bank to process the refund
