Nvidia’s RTX 3050 will be a great budget GPU—once the market stabilizes
If there wasn’t a graphics card shortage and price inflation, Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3050 (available at EVGA) would have the perfect, balanced blend of features and price. At $50 MSRP more than its entry-level GPU competitor, AMD’s RX 6500 XT, the RTX 3050 has more compute power, cranks out higher frame rates (even with ray tracing), and supports video encoding and decoding that the RX 6500 XT doesn’t. However, with GPU prices all over the place due to demand, you may need to settle for an older alternative if you need a card right now.
