Quantum Scalar i3 Library-Managed Encryption License, Scalar Key Manager, four drives License is for use only with Scalar Key Manager (SKM), do not use with other key managers or mix with other encryption licensing. Requires SKM version 2.4 software or higher. If the Scalar i3 will be used in an existing SKM environment that is using SKM software 2.2 or lower, then the SKM 2.4 software upgrade requires Quantum installation. This installation is free if done remotely via WebEx (no extra parts quoted). If onsite installation is required for the SKM 2.4 software upgrade, include SKM installation on the quote based on the library installation quoted. If the quote contains Quantum onsite installation for the Scalar i3, quote SLBBB-NEK2-000x for SKM 2.4 installation. If the quote contains Quantum remote phone-WebEx installation for the Scalar i3 or the customer will install the Scalar i3, then quote SLBBB-NEK1-000x for SKM 2.4 installation. Enables communication with Scalar Key Manager for four tape drive. Supported tape drives include IBM LTO-6 or later. Not needed if application managed encryption is used, e.g., NetBackup key management. The number of encryption licenses quoted/ordered should equal the number of drives installed in encryption enabled partitions. Mixing with non-encrypted drives is allowed, but only in separate partitions (partitioning is included in the base library). Requires the drive encryption warranty uplift to be added for each tape drive license used (SSC33-RLM1-xL10). Warranty/service level of key-enabled drives must match the service length and level of the system. This is a library-based license that cannot be transferred to another library.
