Product Description
Allied Telesis UniDirectional Link Detection - License - 1 License - AT-FL-XS9X-UDLD
The Allied Telesis UniDirectional Link Detection (UDLD) is a network management feature that detects and terminates unidirectional links. Unidirectional links can occur when a fiber cable is cut, a fiber connector is loose, or a fiber switch port is disabled. UDLD detects unidirectional links by sending a special packet out of one port of a network device and listening for the echo reply on the other port. If the echo reply is not received, the network device disables the port to prevent traffic from flowing over the unidirectional link.
The Allied Telesis UniDirectional Link Detection software license is required to enable the UDLD feature on Allied Telesis network devices. This license is available in 1-, 5-, and 10-year terms.
